Summer Picnic Rally to be in Walhalla, on the way to Region 7 Folklorama Rally

This year’s Summer Picnic Rally will be held August 1-3 at Walhalla’s Riverside Park.  If you are thinking about joining us and haven’t made reservations there, don’t wait any longer!  This is a Canadian holiday weekend and the RV park hosts warned us that the park will fill up early.  Reservations at Riverside Park can be made by phoning the hosts at 701-646-2267 – and don’f forget to mention you are with the Airstream Group and they will try to park us all together.  On Tuesday, August 4th, we will caravan into Winnipeg for the Region 7 Folklorama Rally in plenty of time to be well relaxed for Happy Hour.  The Summer Picnic Rally will have NO RALLY FEE – you will need to cover your own costs (parking, food, and entertainment).  Meals will be primarily picnic potluck or heading off to a local restaurant.  Please click the Prairie Rose Newsletter – June-July 2009 for more detail of the Picnic Rally, and the registration form and schedule for the Folklorama Rally.

Correction to May Newsletter

There was an error on the Schedule of Events that nobody has caught yet (or at least reported back to me).  The South Dakota Spring Rally is this coming weekend, May 21 – 25.  BUT the website won’t let me fix it, so I’ll let it win this round…..for tonight.  As soon as I figure it out, I’ll get the newsletter back on this site.

May Newsletter is ready

The May issue of our unit newsletter has been sent to members-this issue includes information on the upcoming Spring Rally in Dickinson, and a ballot for voting for International officers and two amendments up for considerations by the delegates. This ballot is for North Dakota unit members only – our affiliate members need to vote in their “home” unit – it is due back to our unit president’s hands by June 1, or you can bring it to the Spring Rally June 4-7.

Yep, we’re still here…

Listening to the forecast tonight, our good neighbors to the northwest are sending us another lovely clipper to chill off the landscape for the next week.  Visited the Tradewind in storage over the weekend; “George” doesn’t have a sofa – it’s long gone.  We have been kicking around ideas about its replacement – has to be worked around this whoppin’ big water tank Larry wants to put in – we’ll see.  Found some plans for a gaucho on the web, and my dad’s ’72 Sovereign has one that I recovered years ago, so that is likely the plan.  Plans.  Not much else one can do for the next six weeks, I guess.  Went around to the various RV dealers last weekend as they were all having open houses to compete with the RV & Boat Show at the Civic Center.   Call us picky, but we still prefer Airstream – none to be seen though.  They all had the same brand of hotdogs, but Capital RV had root beer, so they were the ever so slight winner.  CR
