Dear Cathy and members of North Dakota Peace Gardens Unit,
We recently received copies of your 2008 Membership Directory and latest newsletter. They are some of the best and most complete Unit publications we’ve had the pleasure to see! And we’ve seen a lot of them from all over WBCCI over the past few years.. We urge you to enter both of them in the Publications contest at the upcoming International Rally in Bozeman.
Further, we suggest that you furnish copies to Bill Schrader, the presenter for the Unit Publications seminar and to Dianne Pons, the Unit Officers Workshop Chairman, for their use as examples of outstanding Unit publications. If you will bring copies to Bozeman, we will introduce you to both of them.
Please extend our appreciation to the member(s) who assembled these outstanding publications; they represent WBCCI and your Unit very well. The format and information they contain serve as great recruiting tools. As examples of the quality of the Unit as a whole, they will help retain members as well. Look us up in Bozeman and, until we can congratulate you personally, give yourself a pat on the back.
Sincerely, Jerry and Marilyn Collins, Intl. President and First Lady

The 2008 Membership Directory is now ready and has been mailed to all unit members. For those members who haven’t return yet from your wintering grounds, it will be waiting for you when you get home.
New in this year’s Directory is a Membership Tool Kit CD with many useful documents, including the most recent revision of the WBCCI Blue Book, and registration coupons for this summer’s International Rally at Bozeman, and the Region 7 Voyageur Rally in Thunder Bay, plus a membership application you can print out as you find potential recruits. Inside the Directory is our Unit Constitution and Bylaws as ratified last September, details of our activities this year, and recruiting “tools” such as the “Check Us Out!” cards with the rally schedule on the back, and mail in post cards for people looking for more information on WBCCI. Please use use these items, as they are of no value still bound in the Directory at the end of the year.

Just received updated information on this summer’s Region 7 Voyageur Rally, which will be held August 11 through 15th in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The registration form for the Rally will be in the February issue of the Blue Beret and two subsequent issues. We will be parking at Confederation College. “As a head’s up….we are not having a skit night this year. We are going to do something different,” indicated Terrol Rogers from the Manitoba Unit. Parking will be on Monday and anyone that wants to arrive early can book in at Trowbridge Falls Campground; it’s very near to the city and good hook-ups—look them up on the web at www.visitthunderbay.com.Don’t forget to secure your identification documents, registration and proof of insurance for entry into Canada, and for your return to the United States. This includes any items needed to bring your pets with you.
